Northwest Institute for Community Energy
Mission Statement:

The Northwest Institute for Community Energy is an institute that coordinates Think and Do Programs across the Northwest. The Think and Do programs will take learning from the blackboard to the blacktop giving students hands on experiences with community supported sustainable energy projects. Program Coordinators will work with student Interns to develop their community organizing skills, and campaign alongside community groups working to innovate and implement sustainable energy projects in the Pacific Northwest. By working with work communities to provide a solution oriented venue to jump-start or move forward local sustainable energy projects, the NICE will act as a catalyst for real change towards a local sustainable energy economy. The NICE will support a combination of energy efficiency and local renewable energy projects to help communities become energy positive. Each program will produce a Community Project Resource Kit to help in the continued development of the project, and for other communities to use as a replicable model.

Visit our website to register for a program!

NICE Website!
hi all,
Just wanted to let you know about our website for the NICE: thenice.org
Please go check it out, we are in the process of revamping it. There is a listserve you can join to get relatively infrequent updates as we solidify the organizational structure in the coming year.
If you are interested in either helping develop the NICE or starting a community energy project in a neighborhood near you please contact me at thenicenathan@gmail.com.
Take care!
