15 Cascade Climate Network students are here in Copenhagen for the UNFCCC International Climate Negotiations, working for a fair, ambitious, and binding treaty to address climate change.
For those of you who haven't heard, these negotiations may be the most important meeting ever. At COP15 (15th conference of parties) leaders from 192 countries will work out a agreements to address climate change (Think "new Kyoto"). 110 heads of state (including Obama) are already confirmed to attend the end of the conference, making this one of the biggest meetings of world leaders ever, and increasing the chance of a binding treaty.
There are lots of amazing things happening in Copenhagen and we'd like to keep you updated so you can take action at home!
1. We started a CCN @ COP15 Blog. We'll be doing video posts and written blogs to keep you informed. We'll also be taking your questions and working on the ground at the Bella Center to answer them.
2. If you want to help at home, join the rapid response team! CCNers in Copenhagen will contact you and tell you how to push the US at home to get a fair, ambitious, and binding treaty in Copenhagen.
3. Become a fan of the Cascade Climate Network on Facebook! And tell your friends!
Thanks everyone! We'll keep you updated about the latests news from COP15!
Good luck with finals!
